Lone Star College-North Harris Photo ID
The North Harris Photo ID functions as an identification card for eligible Lone Star College-North Harris students.
Students can use the card to obtain discounts with cooperating vendors. It can also be used for identification for use of the Assessment Center and the Wellness Center.
The photo ID also serves as the library card for students. By using the library barcode on the back of the card, students may check out books, place electronic holds on books at other Lone Star College System and Montgomery Public Libraries, check out materials from the Learning Center, Parkway and Carver Centers and other Lone Star College System libraries. Using the barcode number, students may also access the library’s online databases and electronic books remotely.
The Photo ID also serves as a print card for making computer printouts and photocopies in the Library and the Learning Center. Money can be added to the cards in the Library or Learning Center.
Eligibility
Student Photo ID’s are available to academic credit and continuing education students, including dual credit and concurrently enrolled students at North Harris and the Parkway and Carver Centers. The ID’s are also available to Adult Education students enrolled in the GED program and to students enrolled in the ESL program.
The photo ID is valid as long as the student is enrolled in the Lone Star College System programs listed above.
Obtaining a Student ID Card
After paying for courses, students should obtain a “pink slip” from the Business Office. This slip will have the student’s name, Social Security and Colleague ID number. The slip verifies that the student has paid for his coursework and is eligible to receive an ID card. This “pink slip” can be obtained from the Business Office during normal business hours.
The student should present the “pink slip” at the Library’s Circulation Desk on the second floor. Library staff will take the student’s picture and print an ID card. Each student will be entered into the Library’s database, thereby activating the library barcode on the back of the card.
For one week in the Spring and Fall semesters, the Photo ID’s are made at the Carver and Lone Star College-Greenspoint Centers. Student ID pictures will be taken at the Center, but the Photo ID card will be printed at the NHC Library. Photo ID’s will be sent to the Center for next day pick up by the student.
Student’s will be charged $10 to replace a lost card.
